Pop up ads are the most annoying. When you visit or leave a page a new window that’s generally fairly small will pop up with an advertisement in it. You’ll have to close it and you’ll be annoyed. Some pop ups make more when you close them.

What is a pop under?

A pop under ad is the same as the pop up except the window pops under your browser. When you’re done with your browsing session and you close the window you’ll see the pop under waiting for you.

What are text ads?

Text ads are becoming more popular nowadays thanks to the Google Adwords program. They’re little blocks of text that sometimes look like they’re part of the site you’re browsing but they’re really just ads.

What is a rich media?

Rich media refers to online advertising that makes use of a range of interactive digital media including streaming video and audio. The ads usually change as a users mouse passes over.

What are flash ads?

Most computers have Flash installed and Flash ads allow for a great deal more animation and interactivity in the advertisement. They’re interesting but they can be a real pain when they slow things down.
